For years, I have loved following bloggers who share their income reports. It’s been such a cool way to get new, creative income ideas and to understand how lucrative certain streams are for different people. These have provided me with such a wealth of information over the years and I want to be able to provide that for you too.
It also proves that there is great money in blogging, and if you’ve been on the fence about starting a blog, maybe this will give you a little extra boost of motivation to finally launch and start publishing!
This month, I started re-reading the book, “Get Rich, Lucky Bitch”, which is all about manifesting more money into your life and business. I loved it when I first read it and once concept she talks about is tracking your income. What you’re paying attention to on a regular basis is what grows. So, if growing your blog income is high on your list, start keeping track on a daily basis! Pick up the book for more tips, it’s a quick, easy read!
Okay, like always, what I include in these reports is what I’ve actually been paid for this month. Technically that means I earned some of these commissions 2-6 months ago, but I don’t count anything as income until it’s safely inside my bank account.
I’m continually grateful for an online business in this bizarre time and that my business can continue to make money for me even when I can’t put quite as much time into it!
Our second baby is due any day now, and I’m excited to see next month’s income report too—I’ve scheduled blog posts in advance and have worked hard on SEO and Pinterest these past few months so I’m hopeful that I can take a step back and still make a decent income.
Okay, so let’s get down to the nitty gritty….

This was my final number after expenses!
My traffic grew another 1.2% this past month. Not a huge increase, but I expected that because I've been slowing down my post schedule with my maternity leave coming up.
I had two big spikes this month—the first when I announced we bought a house, and the second when I shared pictures of the interior of our house from the listing. Without a doubt, my personal content always gets the biggest surges, but does not stand the test of time like good SEO posts do.
My organic search traffic decreased about 11% this month. Honestly, not too surprised. June was another tumultuous month in the world and I didn't post any content for over a week early in the month.
For the most part, my traffic from Pinterest remained the same.
TOP 5 POSTS IN APRIL
Two new posts in the top 5 this month were those two posts that also gave me the spike in traffic I showed above. Other than that, the other 3 posts were the ones that have been leading the way month after month! These continue to bring in ad revenue and affiliate revenue. Two months ago, I added more affiliate links to these posts and it paid off in a big way!

EMAIL LIST GROWTH: 125 NEW SUBSCRIBERS
Most of these came from my Smoothie Challenge & Better Beauty forms.
Email is still something I know I need to focus on more, but struggle with! I just implemented a couple of quizzes as lead magnets this month (July) and have seen great results in just a few days—more on that next month!
June was a busy one of getting things prepped for maternity leave. I focused a lot of energy on getting content planned out for the next two months—which I did, though, I'll only have 2 (sometimes 3) posts per week instead of 3.
I also jumped back into my LikeToKnow.it game. This is another easy thing I've been meaning to prioritize and spent some time making dedicated collages for LTK that I ended up sharing on Instagram as well. I've quickly found that affordable decor posts do really well, but some of my other collages have flopped. You don't know until you try, right?! It's definitely made a difference in my RewardStyle earnings which will be reflected in my income reports in a few months.
Lastly, I worked on those email sign-up quizzes. I used a platform called TryInteract.com and it was super easy! More on this in the future as I see how it really works out.
My biggest focus for July will be BABY!
But, after that, the Nordstrom Sale is happening towards the end of the month and early August. Last year, I just let it get away from me and I regret doing that. I won't be going overboard, but it's a great chance to earn affiliate commission.
Lastly, just doing my best to keep up with LTK and Instagram while I'm on maternity leave. I expect earnings to be lower next month, but hey, that's life and I know that it doesn't mean I'm stuck at that level forever. That's what I love about this job—it ebbs and flows and can easily fit into my life!
