It’s been a while—we’re half way through December and I just realized that I never even got around to October’s income report, so we’ll skip it for now. The truth is, life and work has been busy, and when that happens, this blog and these reports are often the first thing to get put on the back burner.

November brought on even more shifts in my life and business. For whatever reason, I got this idea in my head that if I’m doing one thing in my business, that’s my thing. I have to fully commit and only be that. But what I’ve learned about myself is that I like doing multiple different things. For me, it keeps things fresh, exciting and new.

So, why do I feel like I have to put myself in one box? I honestly don’t know, but I’ve started breaking that down and in a crazy turn of events, started writing on my old lifestyle blog, The Fox & She again. Around 2 months ago, I really got the urge to start writing again and I pushed it off for a while. Then finally I just said screw it—if I want to do it, I’m going to do it.

There was a time in my business where I was blogging and designing websites simultaneously, and it was really fun. Right now, I’m leaning back into those feelings of fun, playfulness and expansion and it feels so damn good.

Lesson learned—there is no one right way to run your business or live your life. You’ve got to do what feels good and right for you.

November 2022: Business Income Report

If you look above, you’ll see October was a slow month, but November was great. Part of that was because I ran a Black Friday sale on my digital products and courses, but also because I booked two new web design clients.

A few months ago I started offering web design on more platforms including Showit, Shopify, Squarespace and WordPress and in November I booked two Shopify clients which have been so much fun!

I’m excited to be able to offer more platforms because it opens up who I can work with a lot.

I’ve been reflecting a lot on everything I’ve created and built this year and my goal for this next year is to focus on growing these things instead of creating more products or services. Marketing tends to be a little bit more challenging for me, but I’m learning to show up regularly and share what I have to offer. The more I do it, the easier it gets too.

The goal for me continues to be reliable, consistent income, and my hope is that more and more of that starts coming from more passive sources like website templates, my SEO course and blogging eBook (this last one just launched!).

Website Traffic

Traffic was way down this month, but I put a lot of things on pause this month. I didn’t do many new blog posts, I didn’t even share them much. I sent fewer emails as well. But despite all that, I still got regular traffic to my website and new clients—wahoo!

Email List

By the end of September, I had 3,318 subscribers and now I have 3,417. The past two months I didn’t focus too much on growing my list, instead just working on the actual work I have.

December & New Year Goals

Is it just me or do you love planning for the new year? It always feels like such a refresh and opportunity to get re-aligned with your big goals and plans. I love dreaming and figuring out exactly how I want to make this happen.

Consistent Web Design Clients

I started designing websites again a little over a year ago and I’ve been so grateful to have worked with so many different types of businesses and entrepreneurs. But, it’s come in waves. A big goal for 2023 is to have more consistency month to month with clients.

After offering web design on more platforms (Showit, Shopify, WordPress & Squarespace), this has already started to happen and I’m excited to see where it goes in this next year.

Grow The Fox & She Traffic

A few months ago, I decided to bring back my lifestyle blog with the goal of growing it organically through search traffic via Google & Pinterest. It’s been such a joy to write again and share in this way without the added pressure of showing up on social media as an influencer.

Create Sustainability & Grow Revenue

In general, creating a more sustainable business is one of my number one goals. I’ve regularly hit the same income goal every month, but the way I earn is different every month. My oldest will be going to kindergarten next year and my schedule will be getting tighter. That’s a big reason why building that sustainability and reliability for my income every month is such a big focus.

And lastly, I want that number to go up, ideally 2-3x! Big goals, yes, but I know it’s possible.
