How to Get a Steady Flow of Free Website Traffic Every Month

If there’s one thing every online business owner wants, it’s more free website traffic to their website. More traffic and eyeballs on your site means that you have more opportunities to turn those visitors into email subscribers, warm leads and finally into paying customers.

If you could have a steady stream of free website traffic who were already looking for your type of expertise, how would that change your business? How would it change your actual day-to-day life?

Less time on IG? Less time worrying about where your next client is coming from? less time trying to come up with an idea to go viral on TikTok? And, more time focusing on the parts of your business that light you up!!

It sounds good in theory, right? But, how do we put it into practice? Our first thought might be that we need to spend more time on social media or pay a lot for ads, but you don’t have to. Believe it or not, you can actually build your own marketing materials that drive a steady stream of traffic to your website absolutely for free.

Over the years, the two things that have brought me the most business and income, are referrals from past clients, and people who come into my world because they loved my content.

Now, I love me a referral, but if you’re new to business, or still building up to the place where you have referrals coming in left and right, it’s good to have traffic coming from other places as well.

I never like to rely on a single source for anything whether that be social media, referrals or my blog content. At the end of the day, I think it’s so incredibly smart to have a few different marketing platforms that are bringing in traffic.

Create Valuable Content for Free

One of my all-time favorites is creating content. Now, I know you might be thinking—hell no, I have no interest or time to blog. But, let me ask you… are you creating content for IG or TikTok? YouTube or a podcast? An email newsletter? When you start thinking about a blog simply as another marketing tool, you can see how beneficial it is to your brand’s long-term growth. Especially when you use good SEO which we’ll get into in just a second, but make sure you’ve grabbed my free SEO checklist!

Think about it, any major online business has a blog.

Why? Because they understand that content drives clicks, sign-ups and awareness about their brand. They know that the content they own is incredibly valuable. Not just in the near-term, but for years to come.

Creating content does take some time, but with practice, you get better at writing faster and it becomes second nature. Like I mentioned above, content you write on your blog is content you own. If you think you own your content on social media, well, you kind of don’t.

If that social media platform shuts down tomorrow and you don’t have any of it saved, your content is gone, and more importantly, your audience is gone. Unless you’ve also spent time creating an email list, you’re left high and dry—could you imagine?

Focus on creating high-value content on a consistent basis to your ideal audience and I can guarantee you, your free website traffic will grow.

Focus on SEO

When you add the power of good SEO to your blog content, you give your content a longer life span and a much higher chance of ranking on Google. The goal is to rank for multiple keywords. The more keywords you are ranking for, the more traffic you’ll get.

SEO is not an overnight fix for traffic, but if you want to build that long-term, steady stream of traffic, building this strategy now will pay dividends in the future.

Before I was creating content for my website, I was getting around 175-200 visits a month, after 6 months of regular content creation, my traffic grew to 800-1200 visits per month and continues to trend upwards. I’m ranking for more keywords each month and moving up in ranking on other keywords. If you want this for your business, start today!

Share your Content

To give your content the extra boost, and drive more traffic, I recommend you share it regularly. With your email list, on Pinterest on your social media channels.

Think about this like a mega phone. You’re amplifying your content by spreading it out in the world for more people to see. The more you do this, the more people become aware of what you’re sharing, and then they start to look for it and expect it.
