Just a couple of weeks ago, I launched a new custom Showit website design for my friend and talented interior designer, Layne Torsch! She is a residential interior designer in Houston and Dallas, TX and was in need of a major website refresh. She admitted that she didn’t remember the last time she updated it and that her site was not reflective of her style or her services.
So, we got to work and the final result is absolutely beautiful! It didn’t hurt that she also had incredible photos of her stunning work, which made this whole project even more fun.
Custom Website Design for Layne Torsch Interiors
Web Design Strategy
The biggest goal with Layne’s website was to elevate her online presence to accurately portray her level of work and her pricing. Before, her site was a simple gallery with small photos with her email address. We wanted to let the imagery stand out so users could feel the warmth of the spaces she creates.
We also wanted to make it easier for her to vet new clients so she didn’t waste as much time on the phone or meeting with potential clients only to find out they weren’t a good fit.
Web Design
The new site features ample white space, large images and unique details that evoke the same senses you get when you’re in one of Layne’s well-designed spaces. The galleries are easy to navigate and to view.
We built out a more robust contact form that allows Layne to collect more details about a client’s project, so she can immediately know whether or not it’s a project within her scope. This might seem like a small detail, but as her friend, I know that’s she’s always so busy, so I wanted to come up with a solution that would help her know which clients were actually serious and which ones were just going to drag her along.
Whenever I design a site, we talk in depth about your goals and what isn’t currently working with our current website so that we can streamline your business wherever possible so you can focus on your craft, instead of the stuff that drives you mad.
Best of all, since this was a custom Showit website design, it’s incredibly easy for Layne to go in and update herself when she has a new project, or simply wants to swap out images!
I’m so happy with how this website turned out and so excited to see Layne’s business continue to grow!
