Root & Flow is the studio of Jessica Schaeffer, a New Jersey–based yoga and meditation instructor. Jessica teaches slow flow vinyasa yoga and meditation in the style of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), drawing on more than two decades of her own personal practice.
The Brief
Jessica wanted a site that felt like an exhale — a space that communicated calm and presence before a visitor even booked a class. It also needed to do double duty as a pre-launch hub, building an email list ahead of her fall program launch, not just showcasing services after the fact.
The Design Approach
We built the whole experience around stillness and movement. The text “YOGA / meditation / WELLBEING” has a fun color-rotating text treatment that sets the tone the moment the page loads. It’s quiet, breathable, and a little meditative in itself. The copy stays simple and direct: “I’m happy you’re here” opens the site like Jessica is speaking straight to the visitor.
Key Features
A launch-ready subscribe flow: a top-of-page banner and dedicated subscribe page capture interest ahead of her fall 2026 program launch, turning early visitors into a warm list rather than losing them.
Three distinct offerings, clearly separated : Yoga, Introduction to Meditation, and an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program each get their own anchor on the services page, making it easy for visitors to self-select into the right entry point.
A personal “My Story” section on the homepage that leads with Jessica’s name and philosophy before any sales language, building the same sense of trust and intimacy she brings to her sessions.
Minimal, breathable layout: generous white space and soft imagery throughout keep the site from ever feeling busy or transactional, which matters enormously for a wellness brand.
The Result
The site reads less like a business page and more like a first, calming conversation with Jessica herself which is exactly the tone needed to convert a curious visitor into a program subscriber.
